Where creativity meets mental wellness — one imperfect stitch at a time.

Creative Spirit Wrangler, mental health advocate, and a firm believer that it’s never too late to reignite your spark.
✨ The Spark That Started It All
I wasn’t one of those kids who was encouraged to draw, paint, or create. In fact, I was often told I just wasn’t “one of those people” — the artistic type. So for a long time, I believed it.
But the pull toward creativity never really left me.
It lived quietly in the background — a doodle in a notebook margin, a fascination with texture and color, a deep desire to make something just because.
It wasn’t until I was nearly 50 that I finally gave myself permission to try. To really try the creative things I had always been drawn to but told I wasn’t meant for. And when I did? Everything changed.
I live with schizoaffective disorder – bipolar type, along with PTSD, panic disorder, OCD, and GAD. Some days, the world feels impossibly loud and hard to navigate. But I’ve found a kind of rhythm in making — a quiet steadiness in knitting, drawing, experimenting.
The act of creating something — no matter how small or scrappy — became a way to stay grounded. A way to rewrite the story I’d been given.
This space was born from that anchor.
Because maybe you need one too.
🎨 Why Ignite Your Inner Artist Exists
This isn’t a place for perfect projects, flawless routines, or polished personas.
This is a creative sanctuary for the messy middle — where art is a healing practice, where trying is celebrated, and where mental health isn’t a footnote, it’s part of the conversation.
Whether you’re…
- Returning to creativity after a long break,
- Starting your first project at 43 (or 63),
- Navigating burnout or a tough mental health season,
…you are so welcome here.
🧶 What You’ll Find Here
At Ignite Your Inner Artist, I share:
- YouTube videos on creative thinking, knitting, mental health, and behind-the-scenes life
- Blog posts that blend storytelling, tips, and honest reflections
- Creative pep talks and downloads to keep you going
- A growing community of creative souls just like you
We’re building a gentle revolution — one that says creativity is for everyone, not just the “talented,” the trendy, or the neurotypical.

🌱 What I Believe
- Creativity is a form of self-care.
- Mental health should be talked about openly and compassionately.
- There’s no wrong way to make art.
- You are allowed to take up space, try new things, and start again.
- Play counts. Rest counts. You count.
💌 Come Be a Part of It
If you’re ready to:
- Rediscover your creativity,
- Get real about mental health,
